Other Information
The Evening Muse opened our doors in April of 2001. Thanks to the music-lovin’ citizens of Charlotte and venturous visitors to our fair city, the Muse has had the opportunity to present literally thousands of original independent music acts for nearly a decade.
From our own Carolinas music scene to performers from all corners of the globe, an amazing array of artists have graced our stage: from acoustic music to full electric bands; alternative, americana, blues, country, folk, hip-hop, jazz, pop, reggae, rock, r&b – and where it all begins, with the songwriter.
The Muse brings acoustic music and much more to Charlotte in a great-sounding room. Excellent original artwork on the walls, a great selection of beer and wine, and music from some of the finest local, regional and national talent. The Muse is located in the NoDa Arts District in Historic North Charlotte, a great neighborhood with a diverse mix of galleries, shops, restaurants and homes. While we are a non-smoking venue, smoking is permitted outdoors in front of and alongside the building.

Best Place to Hear Local Music – “The sound’s the thing here. Owner/soundman Joe Kuhlmann plays and records music, so he knows what a musician (and a seasoned concertgoer) wants to hear. Not the largest place in the world, but it’s guaranteed you’ll never hear one of those hellhound-like screeches of monitor feedback at this place.” – Creative Loafing Best Acoustic Music Club – Critics’ & Readers’ Pick!
